These are some of the most unique, subtly beautiful, and artistic group of images I’ve seen in a while. I’ve been photographing for years in the overwhelming detail of the Olympic peninsula temperature rain forest valleys here in northwest America, and have always struggled to bring out the more simple elements of a chaotic terrain. While I may never be successful enough to actually see the simplicity that Nikhil is able to pull out of the details, I am inspired by his efforts. To me, this is one of the benefits of having the good fortune to see how it is done, and provides an invaluable lesson that mere field trips or written instructions do not achieve.

One can understand the masses going for the bold colors and pleasing compositions of course. But there are more subtle images here that are true flagships of a photographer who can see into chaos, and pull out simplicity. That has been accomplished in quite a few of the images.

Even the messiest human-caused garbage heaps have simple messages waiting to be pulled out with the eye of a photographer. I think that Nikhil is one of those who actually can do it with success. It isn’t often that one NAILS an artful approach such as he has done. If Nikhil can continue with succesfully fulfilling this approach in future images, I think many people would be lucky indeed to be able to view that approach.

Your work is beautiful. I am American and visit Guyana frequently and I find many things about the country hard to describe to my friends back home. My own photographs just can't capture what I feel; but yours do. What a pleasure to sit at my computer and view each scene. It all comes back to me; sounds, smells (good & bad..) and even taste! We will miss your Castellano exhibit by 2 weeks, what a shame. Can't wait to show my husband and friends.
